Has there been a time in recent history when the need
for peace was greater than it is right now? Not only in
our world, but peace in our daily lives.

When I feel at odds with the world, I turn to music. As I
previously mentioned, my earliest exposure to music
was from our hymnal. I find that this beautiful music
continues to soothe the soul and instantly gives me
hope and peace in a very noisy world.

Music of the Season
My singing career had its roots in the music of
Christmas. As in so many other families, Christmas
Eve in the Bemis home has always been a very
special night. As long as I can remember, my brothers
and sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and
nephews, friends, and of course my mom, have
gathered to celebrate and observe this most holy and
magical eve. After enjoying an array of traditional
Christmas delicacies, sharing stories, and in general
"catching up" on what we have been doing for the past
year, I sit at the piano and play, while young and old
sing the beautiful carols that we all know and love. "O
Come, All Ye Faithful" leads off the songfest, which
concludes with "Silent Night." Usually a tear or two
accompanies the beautiful harmonies, as we
remember those who are no longer with us.

I hope this album becomes a part of your holiday
celebrations for years to come.

The Badge Of The CHP
For several years now, I have been trying to find a way to honor the men and women of the California Highway Patrol. While I have the highest regard for all who enter the field of law enforcement and the fire service, I have grown particularly close with the CHP. The death of my friend, CHP Officer Bruce T. Hinman, in 1995 was devastating to his family and friends. And so to remember Bruce, and to honor the officers of the CHP who work every day protecting citizens across our state, I wrote and performed "The Badge of the CHP" and have officially donated it to the California Highway Patrol.
